When the era changed from Edo to Meiji, war broke out in Japan between the shogunate and the new government.
This is called the Boshin War. The Boshin War began in Kyoto on January 3, 1868, and ended in Hakodate in May 1869.
Four months after the start of the Boshin War, fierce urban fighting took place in Funabashi.
I would like to study this urban fighting by investigating the situation on-site and looking at documents and other materials.
