Japan ruled Korea in modern times, and today Korea incorporates its experience of being ruled by Japan into its national identity.
During the Japanese ruling period, South Korea believed that Koreans were victims and Japanese were perpetrators.
In school education, they are taught that the resistance movement against Japanese rule is a national justice.
Colonial management by Western countries is completely different from Japanese rule.
During the period of Japanese rule, Japan developed infrastructure and improved school education.
However, the Korean government does not appreciate these Japanese policies that improved the lives of Koreans.
On the contrary, it is taught in schools as a system for exploiting Koreans, a device to facilitate the control of Koreans.
I believe that this view of history is not an honest view of history.
